The Recital Fable Belong to Laila and Majnu

This is Majnu and Laila’s folklore story. Whom it was claimed that although their bodies differed, their souls were the same. Their mausoleum is located in Anupgarh, Rajasthan. In the Arabian deserts during that period. One of them was the home of Qais’s birth. When Qais was born, there was much joy.

However, a tiny girl named Laila was born in another Arabian royal realm. Laila had a royal upbringing. She was also really attractive. Laila was living with her brother and parents. When Qais was finishing his primary studies. Then Laila would come to seminary to study in the same place. Qais fell in love with Laila the moment he saw her. Laila and Qais first had feelings for each other as children.

The seminary teacher repeatedly ordered both of them to concentrate on their studies, but Qais never moved his gaze away from Laila, and his love for her grew so strong that he began crying and calling loudly Laila Laila since childhood. When the teacher told Qais to write Allah, he wrote the name Laila instead. Despite repeated requests from the teacher, Qais did not listen and continued to write the same. The enraged teacher began beating him with a stick. Consequently, Laila’s hand had the striking markings appear. The instructor was shocked by this as well and let informed both students’ families. They were separated and unable to meet when the teacher informed their families of this. Both of them had grown up after a number of years. When Laila and Qais reached the same fair. Qais’s gaze scanned the fair, looking for Laila. Both of them saw and knew each other.

Laila was just as thrilled to see her childhood sweetheart. Qais began composing verses for Laila. Laila and Qais experienced a passionate romantic relationship. They have no regard for their families or society. When the family members of Laila and Qais got the news, they decided to separate them from each other. Laila’s family did not like Qais at all. They decided to marry Laila somewhere else and imprisoned Laila at home.

When Qais came to know about this, he started going around madly calling Laila Laila in love with Laila. After that, his condition worsened. Wherever Qais went, people started calling him Majnu Majnu and started pelting him with stones thinking he was crazy.

(The Arabic term majnu means mad. It is referred to as “mad” in English.)

Laila’s family forced her to marry Bakht despite all of Qais and Laila’s attempts to the contrary. Despite her affluent marriage, Leila still had feelings for Qais. Laila refuses to accept her spouse as her husband and freely admits that she loves Majnu. Bakht grew enraged and began to persecute Laila. Even after so much tribulation, Laila’s heart did not lose its love for Majnu.

Bakht was taken aback by Laila’s state, wondering how she could love someone so profoundly. He told Laila that he was going to divorce her. Laila desires that he meet Majnu just once. Bakht took Laila with him as he searched for Majnu. Once the Majnu knew Laila’s plight, they too set out on foot into the sweltering deserts to find her. Laila’s body was being marked by the act of stoneing Majnu in the desert. When Majnu eventually discovered in the desert. Bakht questioned the Majnu, saying, “What do you have that I do not?” Majnu answered that I have Laila’s affection and desire.

Bakht pulled out his sword and stabbed the Majnu’s chest because he was so hurt by what the Majnu had spoken. Upon Majnu’s death, Laila also departed from this world. The eternal love of Laila and Majnu was buried with him. Nonetheless, their unending love remained vibrant and unending throughout all time periods.
