Because AirPods are wireless, you can connect them without the use of cables. Set up your AirPods with Apple TV.

What is AirPod?

Apple Inc.’s AirPods are wireless Bluetooth earbuds. They were unveiled alongside the iPhone 7 on September 7, 2016. They quickly became Apple’s most popular accessory. AirPods (3rd Generation) are a replacement for the 1st and 2nd Generation models, though the 2nd Generation is still available on Apple’s website. These are Apple’s entry-level wireless headphones, which are available alongside the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.

The AirPods include a microphone that filters out background noise, as well as built-in accelerometers and optical sensors capable of detecting taps and pinches (e.g., double-tap or pinch to pause audio) and placement within the ear, which enables automatic pausing of audio when they are removed.

How To Connect Airpods To Apple Tv?

A pair of AirPods and an Apple TV go together like peanut butter and jelly, and you can easily pair your AirPods to an Apple TV for private listening. One handy thing to know is that if your Apple TV is associated with the same Apple ID as your AirPods, they should connect automatically. However, if your Apple TV is linked to someone else’s account, or if your AirPods aren’t working with your Apple TV, here’s how to do it.

  1. The first step in pairing AirPods is to put them in their case if they aren’t already there and ensure that they aren’t already paired with another device.
  2. In the app picker on your Apple TV’s home screen, click on that familiar silver gears icon (or your iPhone if you’re like me and constantly lose the Remote).
  3. The Bluetooth option should be just under the Remote settings when you click or tap through. If you’re already using AirPods that are within range, you’ll see them listed under My Device (they’ll probably say “Not Connected”), and another section below titled Other Devices.
  4. You need to place your AirPods in your ears or flip up the lid of your case, then press the button (the only button!) on the back until you see a white light blinking.
